Media Diets
Our media diet tracker has showed us that the ways in which people obtain information is changing rapidly. We rely most heavily upon online resources- especially social media sites like facebook, twitter, or foursquare which are relatively new on the scene. Oftentimes we use our mobile devices to access our news- whatever form it takes. Citizen journalism, usually via Twitter, tends to be the way major news stories are broken. This, however, only gives way to other more reliable sources which fact check. Other major news sites such as CNN, New York Times, and the Los Angeles Times take up a large piece of the pie as well. New broadcasting is another relatively constant form of spreading awareness. Smaller percentages of where we get our news are through print whether that be magazines or newspapers.
